The house rules
- Papaya is the traditional star: Hong Kong food guides list it for nursing mums.
- Fish soup is the classic new-mum bowl. Pick low-mercury fish, and keep rich soups to once or twice a week.
- Feeding often matters most. Soup helps you drink up; it isn’t a fix on its own.
- Skip malt (麥芽) drinks: they’re traditionally used to dry milk up.
